“Gratitude turns what we have into enough” ~ Unknown
Isn’t it
appropriate that the month in which we celebrate Thanksgiving is also when we
embrace gratitude more than any other time of year?
Sharing some
thoughts on gratitude:
Bits of Blue
Once upon a
childhood thought a mountain pierced the sky, and tiny pieces dropped across a
fresh-cut lawn like robin eggs at Easter. Silently the wounded sky cried in
midnight shadows as the mighty river ran the sparkling azure specs into a
stormy sea.
And still
the mountain rose with each discarded treasure, replaced with something new of
less important measure. Smiles of sunshine faded into dark and hug-less hues,
heavy were unhappy hearts as the sky
rained bits of blue.
Until a
childhood thought did once a service, do;
embracing all they once had tossed, collecting bits of blue. And soon the
mountain melted and flowed into a meadow, where grateful smiles returned to
view the fields of glowing yellow. Evermore with thankfulness and hearts
remaining true, shall there be within the
darkest skies, little bits of blue.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!
